Anticipation

Among all the stress of school and extra curriculars, I find myself excited and anxious for the Brazilians’ arrival in Dallas. What are they expecting out of Dallas? What will they think when they get here? Will they feel at home at my own home?

I am most concerned with making their experience the best possible. These visitors did not come to Dallas just to sit around and do nothing. Not only do I hope to make their lives more interesting, but I am also going to be making mine and my friends’ lives more interesting.

Just because I am lucky to host one of the 7 Brazilians does not mean I am the only one excited about the Brazilians’ upcoming visit. Having the visitors at UA changes up the dynamic of school a little. Class will be a little more exciting because of the visitors. Students get to spend time talking to them, and the teachers get to ask questions. For us students, it is exciting to have visitors. We learn a little about the Brazilians, and we get to show them what the average teenage life is like here in America.

So for a few weeks, I’ll have a new family member that gets to have an insider look into my life that very few get to have.
